Butter. The perfect complement to many meals. Add flavor to veggies. Warm buttered rolls. Mmmm…. And it’s handy as an oil for cooking.
Most think butter is a stand alone. Right? But it doesn’t have to be. There are tons of things you can add to butter to transform it from a nice addition to an amazing burst of flavor.
This week, I am going to share three different flavored butters with you that are sure to make your mouth water.
For Garlic Chive Butter, you will need…
1 C. salted butter, room temperature
1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
1 Tbsp. minced chives
1/2 tsp. olive oil
On your stove top, toast the garlic in the heated olive oil over medium-high heat until browned. Mix all of the ingredients until well-combined. Roll into a log using wax paper and chill until ready to serve. This one is great on beef, chicken and veggies.
For Spiced Pumpkin Honey Butter, you will need…
1 C. salted butter, room temperature
1/4 C. pumpkin puree
1 Tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Mix together all of the ingredients until well-combined. I like to use a spatula and smash the butter into the other ingredients. It takes about five minutes to get everything smooth. Roll into a log using wax paper and chill until ready to serve. This one is perfect for sweet potatoes and breads.
For Cranberry Orange Butter, you will need…
1 C. salted butter, room temperature
1/4 C. dried cranberries
2 Tbsp. orange juice
1 tsp. orange zest
Chop the cranberries into small pieces using a food processor. Mix all of the ingredients until well-combined. Roll into a log using wax paper and chill until ready to serve. I like this one for turkey breast and toast.
Each of the butters has a ton of flavor and can add something special to your next meal.
You can even store it in the freezer and cut sections off to use. Just keep it in a freezer-safe bag. There are so many options of kicking up your butter. Let me know what flavors you would make. From all of us at Texas Table Top, enjoy!
