Texans, get ready. It’s. County. Fair. Time.

The time of year when families and friends come together to ooh and aah over exhibits that have taken weeks and even months for local youth to put together. Colorful quilts. Fabulous photos. Breathtaking crafts.

It’s where eating fried junk foods is allowed, and sometimes encouraged.

And when some kids, who don’t get to see farm animals very often, have the opportunity to see lambs, goats, steers, cows, pigs and more.

At some county fairs, there are quilt displays, rodeos, concerts, a fairway, rides, a petting zoo and more. No two fairs are alike.

If your fair has a Texas Farm Bureau booth, be sure to stop by! This family is learning about our mini cotton gin.

It’s a great place to meet friends, learn something new and experience your community’s culture, and agriculture, together. If you don’t know when your county fair is, search online for it today! Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity.

Missed yours? Don’t worry. There’s always next year. AND, the State Fair. The granddaddy of all fairs. It’s going on NOW in Dallas at Fair Park and will run through Oct. 18.

It’s got a car show, rides, exhibits, animals and plenty of fun foods to try. Also, there’s the Texas Farm Bureau Harvest Experience where you can sit in a tractor cab while you see and feel what it’s like to harvest crops in Texas. Be sure to find us in the Food and Fiber Pavilion.

See you at the fair!
