Between holiday parties and church activities, we’re staying pretty busy this December.

But, despite our busy schedules, it’s the time of year when I want to give something sweet to our friends and neighbors.

Years ago, I had time to make all kinds of cute baskets with several sweet treats. These days, I’m lucky to get teacher presents out the door and get the gifts wrapped for under the tree.

But I think I’ve found a way to get back to the sweet treats and still get everything finished with an ever-filling schedule.

For Slow Cooker Peanut Clusters, you will need… Slow Cooker Peanut Clusters
32 oz. dry roasted peanuts, unsalted
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bar
32 oz. white vanilla candy melts
Parchment paper

This is a quick and easy candy recipe given to me by Annette Mach. She works at Texas Farm Bureau and says this recipe is a family favorite. After making it, I can see why.

And it’s a great way to celebrate the finish of peanut harvest here in Texas.

First, set your slow cooker on low. I like to use a liner in mine to keep things cleaner, but it’s up to you. Place all the peanuts in an even layer in the bottom of the cooker.

Now, break up the candy bar and place on top of the nuts.

The candy melts are already small discs, so simply pour them over the top of the chocolate pieces. Put the lid on and leave it for two hours. Do NOT open the lid or stir. These candies really do make themselves. Well, almost.

After two hours, stir the melted candy.

Finally, drop spoonfuls onto a large piece of parchment paper. Let them harden for a few hours before packaging.

These little gems are perfect for neighbors or for a party tray of sweets. Best part, you had two hours to work on other things—wrapping presents or making other holiday crafts. From all of us at Texas Table Top, enjoy!
