Tired of the same old way of preparing broccoli? Looking for a new twist for family get togethers and weeknight meals? I have a simple, but delicious, recipe for roasted broccoli.

Roasting veggies really has a way of bringing out the rich flavor and texture that you just don’t get when you bake or boil them.

This recipe will take less than 30 minutes to prepare, and it will give your taste buds a burst of flavor. The tough stems turn tender and the tree-like tops turn crispy. Your kiddos will even be asking for more!

For Roasted Broccoli, you will need…ingredients

1 to 2 heads of broccoli (1 1/2 lbs.)
1/4 c. olive oil
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Five simple ingredients. That’s it! The lemon juice gives it a crispy and zesty flavor. A little salt and pepper. And you have a tasty dish that’s healthy and delicious! High heat gives the florets a slightly burnt appearance, but don’t let that scare you. The darker roasted crispy pieces actually have the most flavor.

Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees. While your oven is heating, cut the florets off each head of broccoli, as well as the thinner stems.step 1

Toss the broccoli in a bowl with the olive oil and lemon juice.
 step 2

Place the broccoli on a lined baking sheet.
step 3

Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
 step 4

Roast the broccoli for 25 minutes or until tender.
step 5

Transfer the broccoli to a serving dish. Serve immediately.
Step 6

If there are any leftovers, you can add them to a casserole or use them to complete a pasta dish. From all of us at Texas Table Top, enjoy!
