This time of year is meant for reflection. We think about our blessings, our friends, families and loved ones.

Our mouths water with thoughts of turkey, cornbread stuffing and who will devour the last piece of homemade pecan pie.

This year, I’m also thinking about the millions of men and women who won’t be able to sit down and argue over pie with loved ones–our military, nurses, doctors, firefighters, paramedics and others who are giving of their time to ensure we enjoy our holiday off.

I’m grateful for their service. I’m blessed that because of them, I feel safe and happy laughing at the farm with my family.

Thanks for all you do to keep us safe and free. Without you, we’d have no reason to give thanks.
