Celebrating National Dairy Month – Texas-style

Grab a glass of milk, a pint of Blue Bell or a wedge of cheese because it’s time to celebrate National Dairy Month!
There are so many things to love that involve dairy products.
If it weren’t for milk, we wouldn’t have creamy macaroni and cheese, banana splits, cheesecakes or pizza. Imagine a world without pizza. Or ice cream.
I don’t know how I would have survived college without them.
Milk helps to build strong bones and teeth, and it helps to reduce a person’s risk of bone disease and fractures.

Some of you may know and others may not, but we have a special arrival coming this week. Well, not us, but a very important member of our staff. Amanda Hill and her husband, Erik, are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first baby. By the time you read this, they probably will be holding their bouncing baby boy for the first time, and we are all so very excited for them.

I found it! The end of the rainbow where the gold is hidden. It won’t make me rich, but it sure does taste good. I’m talking about “out-of-this-world good” truffles that don’t take forever to make.
And since I will be very busy this weekend with a certain little someone’s birthday (Happy birthday, Butters!), I thought this might be just right for Sunday dessert. These also are a festive dessert if you’re headed to a St. Patrick’s Day shindig.

If your house is anything like mine, you don’t always get to celebrate a holiday on the actual day. Valentine’s Day is no exception at our house, either. A few weeks ago, I mentioned that my mom-in-law’s birthday happens to be the same day. Then there is sweet Butters running around giving hugs to anyone who will stand still. So, my husband and I don’t get to celebrate Valentine’s on its normal day.
