Baseball season is here! From little league games all the way up to the majors, baseball is king this time of year.

With little league games during the week and on the weekends, sometimes it can be hard to find a quick meal for those little sluggers. Of course, you make these ballpark hot dogs or even just a quick snack of popcorn before or after the game. But I like to whip up something a little more substantial in about 20 minutes.

For Hamburger Sliders, you will need…FriedGreenTomatillos
2 lb. lean ground beef
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 packet onion soup mix
1 pkg. slider buns
Colby Jack cheese
ketchup
mustard
sliced pickles

The burgers may be mini, but they don’t lack in flavor. The classic ballpark condiments of ketchup, mustard and pickles really bring it home.

Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees. While the oven is heating, mix together the ground meat, Worcestershire sauce and onion soup mix.

Once it is well mixed, move it over to a foil lined baking sheet and press it into a large rectangle shape. It doesn’t need to go to the edge of the pan. But if you make it a little bigger than the buns, you’ll still have plenty of meat for each burger when they are lined up together. Bake the meat for about 15 minutes or until the juices run clear.

Remove the giant patty from the oven and immediately top with your favorite cheese. Colby Jack is a big hit in our house.

While the cheese is melting, add mustard and ketchup to the buns.

Follow that up with a piece of meat sliced from the patty and top with pickles before serving.

These handheld burgers are great for on-the-go and travel easily if you want them during or after the game in the stands. Hopefully, this will knock game night dinner out of the park. From all of us at Texas Table Top, enjoy!
